Before the 2019 GAA County Football Championship, I collaborated with AIB's sponsorship team to design a series of Instagram stickers featuring various sayings and images for GAA fans. We were the first business to create GIFs for football, which have since amassed over 30 million views on GIPHY. These stickers and stories won Best Use of Social Media at the 2019 Irish Sponsorship Awards and have been repurposed to promote other AIB products like mortgages and the Future Sparks Festival. It was fulfilling to see other brands and companies utilise my GIFs on their pages.
In addition to sponsoring the County Championships, AIB also sponsors the Club championships. At the end of the season, AIB hosts an awards ceremony to recognize the top players in Hurling, Football, and Camogie. The best 15 players from each sport are selected to form a VIP team. In 2019, I collaborated with O'Neills to design unique jerseys that would be presented to the players. Previously, the players only received a trophy, but AIB wanted to give them something more practical that they could use day to day. Working with the O'Neills team to create custom jerseys that couldn't be made through their online platform was an enjoyable change of pace, and it was rewarding to see a physical jersey come to life.
